This project based in London and now Brighton shows mainly feature length films and playing on the notion of secrecy branded in a cinematic style. It is also sponsored by Nokia which makes it quite different from Outdoor AV (us being free and grassroots) They also charge for tickets.
Actually we are quite different sharing only the fact that we utilize spaces as varied as a car park to a field and look for canvases in the urban structure of city living. Taking advantage of the street furniture and reclaiming space for sociability and passing on of creativity and art are key to Outdoor AV.
I do like the way they encourage audience participation by setting fancy dress to the nature of the films, it does make it a more playful experience.
They seem to have started small and got interest early on with the support of Nokia, i’m not sure about this decision and how it would affect a project, surely anyone with an interest, particularly financial, will ultimately have thier own say in how things progress. Perhaps changing the project into a more commercial or profitable practice. I am notadverse to this in principle as long as the ethics were right and artistic content was not affected……
